Job Description

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking experienced Grade Checkers to join a reputable 30-year-old San Diego-based general engineering construction company. This is a steady and long-term employment opportunity with room for advancement, offering candidates the chance to work on both large and small earthwork projects throughout Southern California (Primarly San Diego County).

Responsibilities

  • Interface and coordinate with Project Superintendent or Foreman to ensure project accuracy.
  • Efficiently manage equipment, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
  • Utilize GPS, laser, and traditional grade checking methods for project precision.
  • Operate and maintain proficiency with Trimble and Top-Con Equipment.
  • Interpret project plans and communicate effectively with team members.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience as a Grade Checker for both large and small earthwork projects.
  • Experience with GPS, laser, and traditional grade checking methods.
  • Proficient with Trimble and Top-Con Equipment.
  • Plan interpretation experience.
  • Excellent computer, documentation, and communication skills.

Required Work Hours

The position requires working Monday through Friday (minimal travel outside of San Diego county required).

The salary range for this position is between $40 and $50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
